Columbus’ Ships Were Named Something Else

Everyone is taught that his ships were Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria. But that’s not correct. Back then each boat had a NAME which was named after a Saint, and then was given a nickname. Santa Maria is the correct name (it’s nickname was Gallega). But the Niña was just the nickname, the real name of the ship was Santa Clara. For the Pinta, no one knows what it’s real name was
